Plumbing Factory Brass Band
- Classical (Chamber, Classical, Orchestral)
2017-2018 marks the 23rd season of the Plumbing Factory Brass Band. Established in September 1995 as a British-style brass band, they perform mostly “Golden Age” repertoire, frequently featuring historical instruments from director Henry Meredith's magnificent personal collection (one of the largest in North America) to bring the past to life. During 2017, the band performed 3 concerts celebrating Canada's sesquicentennial with music and instruments from the 1867 era. Recipient of the 2008 Jack Richardson Music Award for the Best Classical Group in London, Ontario, the PFBB has a website (still under construction) - www.plumbingfactorybrassband.com - providing information about current and past members and music, news of upcoming concerts, and details about archival recordings of previous performances, and repertoire. Their next concert, 'Quodlibets – Miscellaneous Melodic Mixtures', at 7:30 pm, on April 25, 2018, in Byron United Church, costs only $15 ($10) - $2 off in advance.
