❤️‍🔥POW WOW ALLEY at PRFM❤️‍🔥
Pow Wow Alley at PRFM is a space making collaboration with Ms.Antone's Beadwork and Rezonance Printing. Pow Wow Alley is a place to find community. It has become ritual fro the Indigenous vendors at PRFM to want to be situated together, so they are closer to community, regardless of any perceived "competition".
The idea behind Pow Wow Alley is PRFM is to honour the long standing tradition of Pow Wow's being a place of safety and representation of each Nation's cultures and traditions. Pow Wow's have also for a long time been the only place you could find Indigenous-made jewelry, art, crafts and wares.
We acknowledge the harm caused by the Indian Act and its outlawing of customs and traditions including Pow Wow's, and in our efforts to support Indigenous cultural reclamation and a nod to movements such as Land Back we thought Pow Wow Alley at PRFM was a rad way to create and hold space to showcase some talented artists from various nations across Turtle Island.
