Venues with a 'COVID-19 Trained' certification have freely participated in a program in partnership with Middlesex-London Health Unit to understand and implement the necessary COVID-19 safety recommendations. Upon completition of training and implementation, accredited venues have passed a facility evalutation.  

Venues with a 'COVID-19 Trained' certification have freely participated in a program in partnership with Middlesex-London Health Unit to understand and implement the necessary COVID-19 safety recommendations. Upon competition of training and implementation, accredited venues have passed a Facility Evaluation deeming their venue and staff ‘COVID-19 Trained’.

COVID-19 Training does no    

The Middlesex-London region has largely contained the first COVID-19 pandemic wave due to careful attention to physical distancing, reduced community contacts through closures, and other measures. This doesn't mean COVID-19 is gone. Physical distancing and limiting unnecessary contact are still the best ways to prevent COVID-19 transmission. When interacting with others, keeping two metres apart is your best defence.

Venues deemed an "Accessible Space' have taken the necessary steps to ensure their business is accessible for patrons, staff and performers. This certification includes accessible parking, entry, washrooms, food & beverage and viewing areas.

Venues with 'Respectful Environment' certifications are committed to providing a safe and supportive workplace in which the diversity, dignity, and perspectives of all individuals are valued and respected. This committment is extended to all performers and patrons that enter the building. 

London played host to the 2019 JUNO Awards and JUNO Week. As part of the festivities, 17 London venues were selected as official 2019 JUNO Fest venues. Other venues hosted significant JUNO events including the Award Show, Songwriters Circle, Fan Fare among industry events.   

A SOCAN license covers almost all commercial music in the world, and Licensed to Play symbolizes respect for music creation, fair play and fun. SOCAN is a member-based organization that represents the Canadian performing rights of more than three-million Canadian and international music creators and publishers.

The Living Wage for London, Ontario is $16.20 per hour; however, where the employer provides an employee medical insurance plan, the Living Wage could be around $1.00 per hour lower.  A Living Wage is different from the minimum wage. Participating is not mandatory, it is a voluntary program employers may implement in their workplaces. A Living Wage reflects what earners need to make in order that their household can meet its basic needs. It ensures families are not under severe financial stress, promotes social inclusion, and helps families achieve a basic level of economic security. A Living Wage is based on the actual costs of a conservative basket of goods and services, and is community-specific. In this instance, wherever possible, costs from the London community were used in the calculation.
