Leiria International Music Composition Competition - Jazz and Classical Music
Leiria, Portugal, a fellow UNESCO City of Music, has announced the opening of the second edition of the Leiria International Music Composition Competition - Jazz and Classical Music.
This annual competition aims to promote contemporary music creation (Jazz and Classical Music) and foster dialogue between musicians from Leiria and emerging composers from around the world. For this edition, the chosen theme is Freedom. Both categories will be awarded monetary prizes of €2,000 (1st place) and €1,000 (2nd place).
Submissions must be made by November 3, and the competition is open to composers born on or after January 1, 1983.
